From meal plan creation to ordering and billing, everything is managed in one system that is easy to use for both providers and customers. Whether school canteen, kindergarten catering, or company restaurant, Mega Meal adapts to your requirements and significantly reduces the administrative overhead of daily meal provision. ### Meal Plan Management Create and publish meal plans for any time period. Define menus with multiple options, set prices and nutritional information. Customers see the current plan and can conveniently pre-book their meals. ### Ordering and Billing Customers select their meals online, and billing is handled automatically. Whether individual billing, collective invoicing, or payroll deduction, the system supports various billing models and generates all necessary receipts. ### Dietary Requirements Record allergies, intolerances, and dietary preferences per person. The system automatically warns about critical combinations and ensures that special requirements are considered when ordering, which is especially important when catering for children. In practiceThree questions every operator asks ----------------------------------- ### Who pays in the end There are three models: parents or employees pay themselves, the company settles through payroll, or the institution pays and receives one collective invoice. Which model applies hangs on the institution rather than on the individual eater. ### What happens when a child falls ill Every weekly plan carries an ordering deadline and a cancellation deadline. Within the cancellation deadline the order is withdrawn and not charged; after it, it is not. Because both deadlines sit on the plan, the same rule applies to everyone and nobody has to decide case by case. ### How families entitled to a subsidy are handled Applications for education and participation benefits are recorded with their approval period. That makes it traceable which period a subsidy covers, rather than somebody keeping a list on the side. SetupInstitutions, plans, payment ---------------------------- First the institutions and their groups are created and the billing model set per institution. Then come the menu plans with prices, ordering deadlines and cancellation deadlines, optionally with a standing order that repeats itself. For payment a Stripe account is connected. Card payment and direct debit are supported, along with a credit balance that is topped up in advance and drawn from. A callback address is registered for Stripe's notifications. Sign-in with Apple and Google can be switched on, but stays deliberately hidden without configured identifiers. Anyone running their own local installation who still wants to stay connected to the central platform additionally sets up the reconciliation between the two. ### Requirements - Institutions with groups and a billing model - Menu plans with prices and ordering and cancellation deadlines - A Stripe account with a registered callback address - Identifiers from Apple and Google for sign-in with them LimitsWhat to plan for ---------------- Payment runs through Stripe, by card or direct debit. A caterer can store their own PayPal credentials, but that is a route for the individual caterer rather than a payment method of the platform. Cash at the counter is not modelled. Handing out the meal itself is not in scope. Scanning at the counter to mark a portion as collected is not provided for; the codes in the system are there for joining a group. Running locally with reconciliation to the central platform, and signing in through a central identity service, are both off by default. Each is a deliberate decision with consequences for data protection and wants discussing before rollout.
