Appointments created in Nuxbe automatically appear in Apple Calendar, Thunderbird, or any other CalDAV-compatible client. Synchronization runs bidirectionally and in real time. Changes are applied immediately, so your calendar is always up to date on all devices, whether on desktop, smartphone, or tablet. ### Three routes into your calendar CalDAV is the main route and allows reading and writing. For Outlook there is an Exchange-compatible endpoint with Autodiscover as well, so the account sets up like an ordinary mailbox. And for everything else, Google Calendar included, there are subscribable ICS feeds that only read. ### Broad Client Support The CalDAV interface works with all popular calendar clients: Apple Calendar on Mac and iPhone, Thunderbird on Windows and Linux, and numerous other apps. Your employees simply use their preferred calendar application. ### Virtual Calendars Alongside the real calendars the integration provides virtual ones: tasks, leads, projects, work times and birthdays appear as their own read-only calendars in the client. They are generated from the data and are therefore always current, with nobody maintaining appointments twice. In practiceWho gets something out of it ---------------------------- ### Field staff on an iPhone The Nuxbe calendar is set up once as a CalDAV account and then sits beside the private calendars in the familiar app. Appointments made on the road land in the ERP without anybody retyping them in the evening. ### An office that stays on Outlook Where Outlook is the standard, the Exchange-compatible endpoint is the way in. Autodiscover finds the settings itself, and appointments are then reconciled in both directions without a Microsoft account being involved. ### A view from outside, without an account If somebody only needs to see when something is due, an ICS feed is enough. It can be subscribed to in Google Calendar or any other program, exposes nothing but the appointments, and can be invalidated at any time by issuing a new token. SetupOne token, three addresses -------------------------- After installation every user sets themselves up. In their personal settings they enable the routes they want, generate an access token and pick the calendars that should be synchronised. The client then gets the address of the CalDAV server, their own email address as the user name and the generated token as the password. ICS feeds have an address of their own, either per calendar or one covering all of them. The Exchange endpoint for Outlook is enabled separately, because it authenticates against the user's ordinary password. That makes it a deliberate decision rather than something open out of the box. ### Requirements - A client that speaks CalDAV, ICS or Exchange - A personal access token per user - A Nuxbe installation reachable over HTTPS LimitsWhere the synchronisation stops ------------------------------- The virtual calendars built from tasks, leads, projects, work times and birthdays are read-only feeds. An appointment somebody creates in one of them in their client does not reach Nuxbe, because the ERP stays the authoritative source for that data. ICS feeds are one-way by nature. What you subscribe to over a feed can be viewed but not edited, and how often a client checks is decided by the client, not by Nuxbe. The Exchange endpoint checks the user's password on every request. Anyone using it stores that password in their client, and anyone unwilling to do so stays with CalDAV and a token.
